So yesterday was one of the best days I've had in a long time. Actually, one of the best days I've had ever. Jenn, Jen, Melissa, Chantal, Austin and I left Nashua around 12:30 and headed out to Hampton. It was really gloomy out, rainy and cold, the whole deal. It wasn't a good beach day, so we spent the afternoon wandering up and down the strip playing stupid arcade games and eating and taking eight billion trips to the bathroom and playing Never Have I Ever in the van while eating oreos and dorritos. We're a good group. We all practically speak through sexual jokes and innuendos. Around 5:30 we went out and waited to get into the Casino Ballroom. The Supervillains were the first opening band and they were pretty good and really amusing. English Beat followed them for at least an hour and they were really good, but repetitive. Everything they played sounded the same and when you're waiting for Reel Big Fish, it gets pretty old and is pretty lacking in comparison. Between them and RBF, we spent a half an hour of recreational time observing an extremely drunk, slutty chubby girl molest and be molested by two guys, one of whom was also all over a short guy who didn't stop texting. It was sort of like a train wreck and we couldn't make ourselves look away. That kind of stuff is the most amusing, though. RBF finally went on sometime around quarter of ten and played til around eleven. Single greatest hour of my life. It was hands down the best show I've ever been to. Jen crowd-surfed and Melissa tried, but got dropped on her back. I love the energy at ska shows. Everyone is friendly and happy and everyone stretches and skanks together and helps each other get up to crowd surf and it's just fun. After the show we drove to the Denny's in Salem to use the coupons we had on our tickets and got verbally abused by one of the waitresses. Melissa and I grabbed some coloring stuff and she came over and grabbed it saying that it was for kids ten and under and stalked away and then no one came to take our order for like twenty minutes. But we finally got food, so it was fine. We were all annoyed though, and Austin wrote "use more make-up" on the check where it said "tip." We got home passed the legal curfew for an under 18 driver, but we didn't get pulled over so it's sort of whatever. It was all around a great night.
Today isn't so much great. I was supposed to be picked up by a friend at noon and he never came and isn't answering texts or anything. And we all know I love being ditched so much. I mean, who doesn't? So I'm just sort of hanging around and wasting a nice day. Plus I burned my ear SO badly this morning while I was straightening my hair. A lot of the skin was scalded on both sides of my ear and it bled for a while and now it's just gross and it hurts really badly and I have open skin but a band-aid won't do any good so it all around just sucks. But my best friend is calling me tonight and I'm happy because I don't get to talk to him much anymore and I haven't seen him since school ended. I miss him more than anyone could possibly imagine. He's such a big part of me; he's my other half. I'm excited to talk to him about everything and catch up, and I'm sososososo excited that I get to see him this weekend. It's been way too long. This is the longest time I've ever gone without seeing him and I can't stand the distance. Another good thing is that I get to hang out with John tonight. We're just going to kick it old school and have a night of laziness and chilling in the basement, eating too much and playing guitar hero for hours and hours and catching up. I've missed that, so much.
So the good outweighs the bad, and I like it that way. Things are looking up, the way I see it. I'm just going to follow the advice of Tyler Durden: "I say never be complete. I say stop being perfect. I say let's evolve. Let the chips fall where they may."
I like your idea of a good time - I'm terrible at Guitar Hero, but I'd join you sometime. We did have plans to go shopping together at one point, I believe..
